KITTEN TALKS 2 : Must Watch Anime Pt.1
If you know me in real life, then you know I do dabble into anime. I'm not an " otaku" ( if you know the actual meaning of that word then you would know its not really a compliment to be that) but I have watched a fairly good amount to say I can recommend some good ones for you all to watch.
When some people think " anime" they might think about Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Digimon, Sailor Moon and ofcourse those are classics, but I want to provide a list of other classics or those that you may not have heard of at all and should definitely give a chance.
These are in no particular order.
#1 : Gangsta
This anime.
I mentioned it so many times to my friends. I believe I first watched it in my college anime club and decided to watch it on my own lol. It's literally so good. The opening OST hits different.
For a short synopsis. this anime takes place in a city called Ergastalum. Two men, Worick Arcangelo and Nicholas Brown, are known as the : "Handymen", mercenaries for hire and do jobs others won't do. They're contracted even under the police. In episode 1 they save a prostitute, Alex Benedetto from her pimp and decide to take her under their wing. There's a supernatural-ish twist to this anime and I won't spoil it.
Unfortunately the anime had to be cut short due to the animation company going bankrupt. The manga is still ongoing I believe ( written by a woman !!) , but you can go online and watch the 12 episodes that did air on TV and cry with me.
#2 Death Note
I know, I know. Veteran anime watchers or even casual are reading this like " OMG deaTH NoTe wE KnoW ThIs BaSic AsS -" Okay let me stop you there maybe not everyone has heard it chile- anyways.
For a perfect world, how far are you willing to go?
Light Yagami a star student, happens to be bored in class and looking out the window like most of us did, and notices something falling out of the sky, a book that reads " DEATH NOTE"
Write the name of someone and in a set time they die. This is just one of the rules of the book. I guess you can figure the direction this anime goes.
Its a classic and was one of the first anime I watched. You can probably find the whole series in English Dub on Youtube ( don't let the powers know I told you that)
#3 Terror in Resonance
I recently completed this anime and I would give it a solid 9/10 or even 10/10. I think its just THAT good.
The story follows two teenage boys named 12 and 9 ( as the story unfolds you'll find out why they have numbers for names) who want to set off an atomic bomb in Japan. Sounds terrible but you'll find out their reasons WHY they want to set off bombs and the clues they leave behind for the police.
I found this on Youtube with English Dub ( though I prefer English Sub, I think Japanese always sounds badass) and the entire series goes just a bit under 4 hours. It's def worth the watch.
#4 Angel Beats
When I first got into really watching anime in Highschool and trying to see what I may like, Angel Beats was one of the top animes I saw being discussed so I decided to watch and bruh - this anime is heavy ( or atleast what 14 year old me thought)
In short, the themes within this anime are death, hardships, the afterlife.. so if your sensitive to these topics maybe don't watch it. I remember crying watching this so take what you get from that lol.
#5 Mirai Nikki ( Future Diary)
Do not be fooled by the above gif. That is not an innocent blushy pink haired girl.
But you'll find out why soon enough ! Yuno is your typical ( or not) Yandere personality character who's in love with Yuki ( above boy looking nervous as hell).
Yuki is a social recluse who often documents a diary on his cellphone and is warped into a game of survival, where : "Future Diaries" are tools for the players to predict the future and try to become the winner. Hopefully I explained it well, but this is also an anime I watched back in Highschool, and I remember finishing it and ranting about it after.
Bonus : BT21
I know people are going to see this like " not her with the KPOP" * rolls eyes* WELL DEAL WITH IT ( jk.. but not).
Anyways its not really " anime" per say but is a line of characters BTS created and has a whole line of products and animated shorts on the Youtube Channel. The characters are Koya, RJ, Shooky, Mang, Chimmy, Tata and Cooky and are all gender neutral cause the band wanted them to be more relatable no matter how someone identifies. I believe its really cute and I plan to buy some merch soon * eyes wallet*
And.. that is it. Again these animes/ shows were not in any particular order and even if some weren't my faves, I do believe they're well worth the watch. This is just Part 1 and more will be coming soon ! I'm already started a few more so can't wait to tell yall about them !
Thank you for reading and COMMENT DOWN BELOW some of your fave animes ! See you soon !
